Menya Okaichi Ramen|pork bone and seafood broth ramen|Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture
Menya Okaichi
The ramen at Menya Okaichi is unique in Japan, as it is a tonkotsu ramen with a blend of Japanese-style broth, specifically featuring seafood-based dashi. Even though it’s a tonkotsu ramen, it’s uncommon in Japan to have the additional twist of a Japanese-style broth with a seafood base.
The photo shows a bowl topped with rock seaweed, imparting a pleasant ocean scent. It’s my recommendation.
The chashu is also tender, and the flavor has soaked in thoroughly.
We use medium-thick noodles with a curly texture. The curly noodles intertwine well with the soup, enhancing the overall flavor.
Spinach is included as a standard topping.
